Game-Specific Data Collection

Most of our games function without direct personal data collection. However, certain titles utilize platform-provided tools or backend services to support gameplay features.

Hot Dogs, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades 2 (H3VR2)

When playing H3VR2 on supported platforms (including Meta Quest), we and our backend providers process specific data categories to enable multiplayer, progression, and platform features:

  • User ID & User Profile: We process platform-generated user IDs and basic profile identifiers to authenticate your account, maintain save states, and manage gameplay leaderboards.
  • In-App Purchases (IAP): We process transaction data and purchase entitlements associated with your account to grant access to downloadable content or store items within the game.
  • Friends: With your permission, the game may access platform friend lists to facilitate social features, leaderboards, and multiplayer connectivity.
  • Backend Service: We utilize BrainCloud as a backend service provider to manage unique user identifiers, save data, and gameplay scores.

Steam and itch.io Titles

  • Platform Tools: For games distributed via Steam or itch.io, we utilize platform-native APIs (such as Steamworks) to manage high scores, achievements, and user statistics.
  • Storage: This data is stored and managed within the respective platform's ecosystem. RUST LLC does not store these user-specific statistics on our own private servers.

Third-Party Services

Our games are powered by third-party services. By using our software on these platforms, you are also subject to their respective privacy policies:

Newsletter Subscription

  • Data Collected: Your email address.
  • Purpose: To send you development updates, studio news, and insights from the RUST LLC team.
  • Control: You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email.

Your Rights & Data Deletion Requests

We provide data privacy rights and mechanisms for data deletion to all users globally, regardless of geographic location.

  • Requesting Data Deletion: If you wish to request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data or user identifiers associated with your account (including data held via our backend providers for H3VR2), you may contact us directly at privacy@rustltd.com. Please include your platform username or user ID to help us locate your data.
  • Newsletter Data: To request removal of your email, use the "Unsubscribe" link or email us directly.
  • Platform-Specific Data: For data managed directly by Steam, itch.io, or Meta outside of our game services, please submit deletion requests through their respective privacy portals.
